TrueRC Lipos are the same as Maxamps -
09.24.2006, 09:41 AM
I was talking to the owner of TrueRC and his Lipos are the same used at Maxamps.
He showed me pictures of the serial thing and the manufacture of the cells. I don't know if all are but TrueRCs new 4000mAh cells are the same and nearly half the price to, they also have good heatshrink around them this time.
I've preorderd some along with my charger to give them ago.

They are not.
I have seen measurement on them , and they are not all that.
The dimensions of the cells are different too.
45mm wide, vs 50mm wide.
I presumed they where the same too, but after a little more digging i realized they are not.

I removed the link nick. I didn't think it was right since mike sells the maxx amps brand. Let us know how they work out and what your thoughts are. Maybe mike can carry some of them to.
Peace!

Leroy, I actually suggested to Dan that he contact Mike about selling his packs, but not sure if he ever did.

He says they are the same. :024: I don't need to post any more chat logs to prove it. Like I said I'm not trying to kick up a fuss, I thought I might be saving money for others if they are same cells but it seems you know better.

I know that Dan wouldn't lie about the fact that there the same cell...I don't understand the size difference, but like I said, I'm sure there is a explanation. Besides, I would choose the TrueRC, but thats me, because the Max Amps packs are a few mm to tall. I think because of something they put to space the cells apart a little...Anywho, the TrueRC is what I'm going with because as far as the 8ah packs go, there the only ones that will fit...

Those graphs don't really look like 15C to me. The voltage and cap drop seems too drastic to really be a true 15C. 12C is already dropping..

Perhaps it was an old batch, i would love to throw them in my lightweight maxx and hook them up the eagletree.
Perhaps these cells are different than the ones tested, but stating that they are the same is dared IMO.
if you bought 40 of them and they are different (performance-wise), who would take the bullet for it?

Guys there is an explanation... I hesitate to get into discussions like this here out of respect to all the parties involved.
The cells are the same source and essentially the same cell but they are slighlty different sizes. Maxamps gets theirs in a little smaller but thicker size.
Take a maxamps cell and put it in a press.... and you will get a truerc cell. :)
I have good reason to make this assumption and I'll leave it at that.

That could have been the old cells that maxx amps had. They may be the same. May not be. If they work good that is the main thing.
Peace!

This is not a discussion, this is just sharing thoughts.
one gp3300 isn't the other either. there are simple different grades in cells.
but their is a difference in 'the same cells' or 'simular cells', right?
