SLICKS for my eMaxx - 10.20.2006, 10:40 AM

Hi folks!

The weather is fine and i want to buy good slicks for my eMaxx...

...i can only find panthertire slicks (mega maxx slick s) for monter-trucks.

Proline has road rage, which is a very good tire but a semi slick and not a full slick.

I want to try some highspeed runs on asphalt, but the tires are missing.

Does anybody know a good slick?

Or is it possible to fit 1/6 scale tires/rims on my maxx?

Advise is needed.

Marc.

I like the maxx size foams at the bottom of this page for pavement speed runs.
http://www.imexrc.com/TEMAXX_TIRES_NEW2.htm

Nice and stable and the narrow width is good for reducing wind resistance drag.

I cant comment on above 55... I have never had my setup geared for those speeds. Probably 50 or so is the fastest I have ever tryed. That was plenty fast for me.

As far as looks go. your right, they arent pretty. But they are very stable with good traction on pavement.

In general I agree that Imex tires are not very good. However, I have had good luck with these Imex tires in particular. The other Imex tires I have had have all been very out of balance and not very durable. These however are just about as balanced as a tire/wheel can be (making them good for higher speeds) and they hold up well to flat pavement use. The downside to them is as they wear they get smaller in diameter so you have to keep gearing up to compensate.

Besides that... If you want foams for your maxx size truck, they are the only game in town.:frown:

Not trying to convince you... Just letting you know my experience with them.

I would also be interestind in trying out that 1/6 setup. Looks sweet too!!

Had a set of foams on my E-maxx(Not the Imex). Could never get them to hook up. Any time I would give the truck full throttle it would spin out. This was on a mid power set-up:027: . On my truck the foams were junk.

The road rage do work fine. Even a worn out set bowtie or other small pin type tires seem to work great also.

Thank you,
Promod

Dude, to you a mid-power setup is a 1950 on 6S :005:

Road Rages worked well for me.
