another burned quark -
12.01.2006, 01:25 AM
it finally let go. i was running 5s lipo today at the track and after the 2nd lap the truck slammed on the brakes mid throttle. i attempted to reprogram the controller with success, but it still wouldn't move. it just cogged really bad. i cut it off and tried giving it throttle and it let out a sizzle and smoke. this sucks really bad, i have(had) a race in two days. i can't bring myself to say one good word about this controller! guess i'll send it off for repair. i will be really pissed if this has any ill affect on my lmt 1950! heres a links to some pics of my baby:

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I can't really tell, but did you do the Opto mod for the Quark?
That is one NICE setup you have there, i notice you set things up in similar ways I do... ;)

Did you use thermal epoxy to bond your heatsink to the esc?

The 12020 will take forever to get back FYI! BK is having issues with repairs and controllers right now, not sure why.

lol...12020 has no midrange? Well, I guess that wouldn't affect the way I drive ;)
Wow...two ESC's that dont work...and expensive ones at that...that sucks.
I always thought the 125B's were super reliable...maybe time to look at a MM? Seems like a good replacement for now...someone was running his on 5S...

I just got a replacement for my fried Quark 125 back. They replaced it no questions asked as long as its still in the 120 day waranty. Total time including shipping was around 2 1/2 weeks from when I sent it until the time I got it back. I sent them a white wire version and the sent me back a neon colored wire version back.
BTW my 1940/7 survived the burnout no problems. I was running the 1940 in another model on a diferent quark125 I have. No problems. I wouldnt get to worried.
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

do you think S&T would send me some white wires free of charge you think? I really don't like the 'fruit-cake' color wires on it now.

I'm sure you could even ask Mike for some wire too.
