Servo - 04.23.2005, 02:16 AM

As I stated in the G-maxx thread, just converted my truck over. I turned it on to see if all is working.

I have power, wheels turn, etc however when I hit the high/low switch on the control I hear a noise coming from the servo that shifts from High to Low. I see it shifting however I never heard the noise before. Any idea's what it is?

Thanks

perhaps the spring that unloads/loads?

Maybe the servo itself, your sure it is the servo and not coming from the gearbox? Sometimes it makes a click, when the gears fall in place. It might be a bad spot on the gears in your servo as well. Is it the stock servo?

I would agree with serum - check the servo operation when not connected to the tranny - see if it makes the same noise. If that is the stock servo - they are not really that strong and have all plastic gears - also check that it is not trying to overextend in either direction. If all else fails, rip that sucker out and lock it in gear manually. That will get you positive gear engagement and also less weight... Let us know what you find out - ( dont forget next sunday - Opening Day at the track - Huge turnout expected - get that maxx ready.....)

Yes, stock. Worked fine before I did the conversion. So I'm not sure if it's hung up or what. Like I said, low is fine, switch to high and it makes a noise of some sort.

I'll run some tests ASAP. Really tired after staying up so late to finish my build on my truck ;)

I hear ya. Make sure that she is ready for opening day - 5/1/05 - There will be a bunch of guys racing emaxxes... If you want to race - that would be a good time to break her in. Or at the least come down and check out the racing - i bet there will be at least 50-60 racers that weekend or more....
