how to keep screws on

I have a quick question guys. I treid to do a search but didnt get any results. The set up is Brushless, UE cvds, 6mm ext. the problem is I cant keep the srew on the cvd to stay on so the tire keeps coming off. I was going to try lock tight or is there a better solutions you guys came up with? Thank you guys very much, Makana

I think loc-tite would keep them on there, use the blue loc-tite so you can unscrew it later if needed.

This is the best answer to your problem, but MAKE SURE the threads of the set screw and the CVD are clean before you apply loctite, otherwise it will not hold.

Blue only held for so long for me, I went to red....but yes, clean threads are very important. And never use loctite over loctite, it's useless as Procharged said.

teflon should work too. try some of that.

I used red and have no probs.

Normally a wheel getting loose might be another problem; the blue nylon part in the nut is worn out (these nuts are actually meant for 1 time use only)

or the hex is sloppy on the wheel or on the shaft. or the wheel is wobbling like crazy..

Normally, the wheels don't fall off for no reason. If you can't put your finger on it; go for the blue loc-tite solution.

ARG, all you guys are saying blue? I have always had to use red...maybe I should switch back, but had issues with the blue for some reason. Anywho, if Serum goes with blue, then go for it! LOL
I agree on the nuts, the nylon is worthless after switching tires. I buy packs of those from my lhs for 1.50 for eight in ea.

Hey Guys,
I usually dont make the nut too tight then it makes the wheen feel sticky or has a resistence to it. I back the nut off a little so the wheel spins more freely. Am I suppose to make the nut tight where there feels resistence on the wheen when you spin it? THanks guys

If the UE shafts start binding on the bearings, you are not using the ring/spacer between the two bearings.

Is you use this shimm/ring/spacer you can cranck them down without binding.

As Serum said, the UE shaft kit should come with two types of spacers. One set is for large bearings, the other for reg bearings. When using the spacers, you should be able to snug the nutz pretty good. There should be no binding at all and the wheel should spin freely.
