Stampede reborn? -
01.14.2007, 12:37 AM
Witness the most tweaked and retweaked stampede on the planet. Took so many nights to build it the way I like it that I almost don't even feel like talking about it. There's a custom chassis brace system I made on the bottom with a compartment for holding my 3S 6Ah Lipos. That's a sideways slide-out cover on the bottom to protect that battery. Beside's giving rock bottom CofG, you don't have to remove the body to change the pack. very handy! 100% steel tranny innards and a basic 5200 complete the deal.

they're just the traxxas big bore Al shocks with silver socks over the springs.....
last I checked jato shocks weren't a direct fit. The stroke is wrong for the back as well.

Looks very nice. What kind of speed and runtimes you get out of it?

Thx. Haven't clocked her, but she's so fast I get nervous at WOT. I'd guess around 45-50 mph or so. Too fast for a truck honestly. Traction is the hardest part. Even Med Komodo dragons spin to baldness in no time if I'm not careful. I had to get some street tires for when I mess around on the street or I'd go through dirt tires within minutes. Runtime is like 25-30 minutes just fartin around at the tracks.

That sounds logical (runtime).. as for the speeds, it may feel as if your going 45-50, but really its probably around the high 30's low 40's.

I agree, I have a T4 that when i run a 3s lipo, i thought it was in the 50's, but with a radar it was only 45
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I've been meaning to get a radar but all my budget now is toward a Jammin CRT conversion that will get RC truck of the year when it's done! I just used a buddy to time me over a 100 foot stretch, and calculated the speeds. You'd be surprised how repeatable the measurements were. But in all likelyhood, it's around 45, not 50. I've seen pedes hit just over 60 but they needed 5s voltage and the motor couldn't handle it for long. Personally, anything over 40 is a waste to me for a truck. I wouldn't think of doing the drive along method. Once you get a little pede going 45 or so, tracking straight is not too easy!

We have a 42mph Pede, I too was convinced it was doing 60 :)
However, lately we ordered a MambMax/Twist combo. According to the speed calculator we could see upwards of 60MPH under 3S. I can't wait to try it out this spring :004:

I assure you it over 40 mph. I was clocking around 40 mph last revision and that was with revo response tires and a Lehner 4200. Since I have added the smaller lighter anaconda's (also less roll resistance), and the 5200 with it's completely maxed voltage.

Mike : Yea, tires go quick on pavement, not so much on dirt/grass.
Cadima : If your clocking it with a radar than it is over 40 (unless your using the hot wheels radar ;) ) .

For me i would have someone drive along a straight road with me in the car (window open), and have my buggy toping out and trying to go at the same speed as the car.
would probably be the bast way for ME to see how fast its going. And ill know that im getting a acurate reading.

I don't trust my driving enough to do that.:007: Be my luck it would be like the monster truck video from XXX main, right under the truck:035:
