a123 cells on rusty! - 01.20.2007, 04:56 AM

hey gusy i got the a123 3s1p in today and HOLY CRAP I LOVE THEM!! 205 shipped (i payed 17 for 2 day air :005: )

ACTUALLY CHARGE IN 15 MIN!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!! will get some runtimes on it tomorow!

these batteries ARE too big for the stock chassis but its no biggy whatsoever to make it fit! you can even cut out an area for it to fit in perfectly! which i am going to do at work tomorow when theres no customers :005:

first run was in the sand dunes and MAN!! it wheelies like NOTHNG!!!! i had to gear it down to keep it down some and it still didnt work! waiting for the swami bar to come in!

second run was at the track. SO much quicker off the start! i cant go WOT or it will be all up on its lid!! its INSANE!! so much freakin power!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!

thrid run was in the street to kill the battery. i guarantee at least an extra 5 mph from these batteries!! and that was when i was geared lower!! when im actually properly geared OMMMMGGGGGG!!!!!! i will be getting some sweet vids tomorow!!

I LOVE MY A123 cells!!! I HIGHLY reccomend them!

heres a quick vid of the power

Gotta be careful as RadioShack doesn't carry the GP's anymore. They have a different 7.2v pack now and the cells aren't as good. IIRC, they are Sanyos, but not sure. Also, if you try to order online, the picture will be of the GP's, but you'll actually get the new style.

Best to run to your local RS and see if they have any left over before they're gone. All the stores near me have only the new packs. :(

If you had some good Gp3300s it would have made a difference, too.

Glad to hear you like the A123's.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL
