mamba max 4600kv Motor Specs - 01.20.2007, 11:09 AM

I am after a little more information about the 4600kv mamba max motor system that I have ordered.

I know the controller is rated for 100A continous, but what sort of current do the motors draw under consistent normal driving?

In other words - can 80A deans connections take the current, and if two motor systems are connected to one LiPo battery, would 150A continous, 200A sustained, and 300A Burst be a high enough spec? (this would be a 3s 10000mah maxamp LiPo battery)

Thanks

Brushless motors in cars pull no specific amount of current because it depends on so many factors. Just to give you an idea, here are a few of them:
-battery voltage and how much current the batteries can supply
-gearing
-tire size
-drivetrain resistance
-air resistance
-acceleration

Deans can take a pretty good amount of current. I've gotten amp spikes to 120amps, and use Deans connectors in all of my cars/trucks.

Why would you use two BL systems in a car?

Here are some specs from the top of my head from a dyno castle did awhile back

4675 kv
.0093 ohms resistance
3.0 amps unloaded

It should be similar to a feigao 380c 8t. Some say it's closer to the 9t.

I tried to find more specs on that motor too, but it is closely gaurded behind the "castlewalls". I run a 4600 on 3s 3800mah, 76A continuous, with no problems. Battery barely gets warm, need to use the temp probe to even tell that it got above room temp. Judging by similar size rated motors, I can't see it pulling more than 40 - 60A max. Also, running 2, neither one will be fully loaded.

I think he plans to run a dagger metal.
I think it was in another thread.
Could be wrong though.

Yup coolhandcountry is correct, I would be running them in a wild dagger, hence the need for two separate systems, very similar to dagger thrashers project which is somewhere on this board. It seems to be a little difficult finding specs for these motors as noone really seems to know what spec LiPos are actually required. I will probably be going with one maxamps 8000mah 3s2p packs to supply both systems.

# 20C Constant(160 amps)
# 30C Sustained(240 amps)
# 50C Burst(400 amps)

should be enough shouldn't it? could a 4600kv motor spike to 200A? It seems like a hell of a lot really :026:

I think you may be safe with that pic. I know of people that run the system
off of a single 4000 pack. I guess two systems with twice the mah. You
should be in the safe area. JMO
