RC18T Steering servo - 01.31.2007, 04:47 PM

Does anyone know if this servo would work?

And if so, do you think Mike can get one?

The specs show it to be a tad larger than the HS65 which is what I'm running in mine.

For the Hitec HS65 you will need this mount.

I thought it was bigger, kinda figured on a new mount, but would it work ok? Or is it TOO large? I mainly liked the torque and speed specs of it....
Thanks man!!!!!!!!

You got me curious so I started digging around and found this post. Looks like a lot of work. I've had good success with eliminating slop and tracking issues by going with the 3racing link

COOL, so the 81 would work with some mods...that is good news. It may be a tad over kill on the steering, but what the heck. I also thought about the hitec 56 or 55, but not sure if it's better than the stock servo. And, I have been eye balling that linkage for awhile now. I put in the titanium turnbuckles hoping it would cure some of the slop, which it did do, but the steering is still sloppy. I used a drag link, which is pretty much useless after one crash. It stretched a tad and has a poor fit.....FYI

Thats too big without major mods, I have a hitec hs 56 that fits with servo saver and hs56 servo mount from the factory team kit, I think its available at tower

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I think I'm going with the HS 65 servo...The stock is ok, but I want the hop up to something that has a little more. I picked up the 3racing linkage for the steering too. Won't be able to test anything though, it's -2* F here!

I got this steering link and gear cover. From what I can tell there is no end to the steering slop. This helped and I have the titanium tierods as well, but it still sloppy imo.

Get the 3racing one, it's good. I also have the delrin steering drag link, and it sucks IMO.

Good to know Larry. I ordered the linkage and a servo with the holder for the servo.
