Depends on the motor and gearing, but I would get the 8000mah instead. I run the 4s 8000 in my maxx

Are you going to be running a single battery pack or two in series? Anyway, the 5K cells are supposed to be the latest hot thing at maxamps and they packs/cells are usually very good bang for the buck. What setup are you running?

I haven't tried the newer "copper" tab cells. I do have a couple of the pre-copper tab packs and with an 8XL, we were able to heat the 8Ah packs up pretty good in an 8ight. Your revo should weigh about as much as the 1/8 scale buggy. I'd go with the 8Ah pack(s). They can handle more current draw.

I'm using a Maxamps 4s 5000mah pack in my Hyper 8 right now. So far I've only done street driving (with Road Rages that are quickly going bald), but it seems to be quite a powerful battery. Best of all, the hottest cell (one that was covered up) has not exceeded 100 deg. F.

this will mainly see parking lot assphalt, gravel driveway, occasional track session. i want to try the 4s 5000mah because i can afford the thing and i want the conveinence of one batt to worry about. thanks. i would hate to sell this thing just because i don't want to deal with the battery issues but maybe a bl stampede or something would be better for a beginner. oh well i am going to go with the 5mah and let yall know if it doesn't work out i may post this thing up for one of you to get your hands on.

got a couple runs on my new 4s maxamps 5000HV, seems to be a decent batt, geared 14/46 with 7XL gets it about 100* or so, perfect.

you will need to use 2 7.4v batts in series for the 8XL or you can use one 14.8v pack.
