xl2000,xl2400 or maybe xl1600?

I noticed in an eariler thread that for a fairly stock weight Emaxx to go 50ish MPH on 20 cells or 22.2 volts with the 9918 controller,you recommended the Lehner xl2000 or xl2400,but since you're out of stock on both of these motors would the xl1600 get the same type of performance?Would the temp be about the same? Thanks

The xl2000 and xl2400 will both be back in stock hopefully this week. I have considered the xl1600 myself to tame the power down a little. the xl2400 on 18.5 volts is a bit too much for the track. I think the 1600 on 22.2 volts would be a great setup. It would run cooler than the 2000 or 2400 and get a longer runtime. The rpms are a bit lower, so it would need tall gearing to get 50mph, but it could certainly get there. 50mph in an e-maxx is pretty rediculous to drive around. Even 35-40mph is fast enough to be a ton of fun and can get scary on a track.

I ordered a 2400XL and will run it on 14 cells. My goal is a nice, stable setup without heat issues, but with enough power and a nice runtime.

i ordered a 2000XL/warrior 7018. On 18 cells i should hopefully get nice speeds, runtimes + cool temps....

The more cells you use the less runtime because the increased voltage? Shame how to get the good speeds it always means sacrificing something - hopefully when a stable decent commercial LIPO comes out it should solve that.

Not necessarily true. If you produce the same power with more cells, you will get a proportional increase in runtime. The statement is true of the same motor and gearing(same motor and gearing with increased voltage will diminish runtime).

Thanks for the input guys.I think I'll wait this week and get the xl2000.Buy the way this is strickly for topspeed runs,gearing down a couple teeth and bashing,no track time.

Hey maxxdude let me know how you like your combo.I can only run 20 cells and will post my GPS speed times.
