The Mamba Max motor is considered an "s" size motor, and just doesn't have enough to power a heavier MT (~10lbs). You could get it to work if you geared it VERY low, but then it'll only go like 15mph. For decent speeds, ~35mph+, most get an "xl" motor. The turns count will depend on what voltage you plan to use. The MM ESC can power these larger motors if geared right.

The MM motor really isn't designed for monster trucks, but I do have a friend that is running the 4600 system in his mostly stock emaxx on dual 3S packs run in parallel. I believe he's running the 6Ah packs. He doesn't have any heat issues and he's getting rediculous runtimes. Personally, I would have gone with a different motor, but he isn't having any problems.

hey i see alot of people using the mamba max esc with the fiego motor would this be a good setup in the emaxx until i get an 1/8 scale and why are people chosing sensorless over sensored? and will the novak 4.5 or 6.5 be god in a 1/8 scale.

depends on the gear ratio that is possible,
the novak 6.5 needs 25/1 i think and the 4.5 needs around 30/1.
so in a 1/8 truggy or buggy you have a gearing range of 17/1~8/1.
it also depends on your tire size and overall weight.

FYI, the Mamba Max motors use a 480 size rotors and they're very weak for MTs.

We run (or atleast I do) sensorless because the MM is very cheap and the sensorless motors available on this sight are WAY more powerfull than the Novak or LRP sensored stuff. Also, the tiny bit of extra throttle response at low end isn't really noticeable in a 10lb truck running a 4s or 5s LiPo.

JMO though.

I think he meant the stock esc blew and was thinking of the MM and trinity N80 motor. I have heard its a great setup on 12 cells, one of the rc car mags did the same combo and said it was awsome

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
