My E-Revo w/ Custom chassis and solid center gear - 06.01.2007, 06:13 PM

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum!!!!!

I checked out most of you guys e-revo's and I have to say that I havent seen one yet that did'nt impress me :) So I decided I'd share some pics of my E-Revo!!!

My goal for my E-revo was MASSIVE speed and a truggy like chassis. I custom made my upper and lower chassis along with everything else pictured. The only parts I was unable to make were the dogbones, cups, motor mount, and shock mounts..... As for the POWER!!!! I'm running a 14 cell IB4200 WCE pack, BK Warrior 9920, and the Feigao 8L with a 12t pinion and 96t steel spur. I've heard on different forums that the 8L is a bit small, BUT it's more than enough power for me. It has more low end power than I can possibly handle. As far as top speed...... I can run side by side with a car going 50mph. So I think it is safe to say it will go ATLEAST 40mph :) . It does run a little warm but not bad at all, ESPECIALLY since I haven't gotten my motor heatsink or my esc fan yet :)

Please leave me some feedback and advice on what you guys think!!!!! Lookin forward to hearing your comments, I'm even ready for some constructive criticism :P

Thx!!!

Thx for the warm welcome *RC* ..... I'm still debating on cutting battery slots on the chassis...... It will be time consuming :) Especially considering the only thing I have to cut with is a dremel and a jigsaw

Welcome to the forums bytheway.

Nice work;

Why did you made it so freaking high? and why didn't you used a centerdiff?
the dogbones/cups will wear like crazy at this angle.

I thought about a conversion for the revo as well; it only need an upper plate where all the parts are hanging underneath. (like the stock chassis) it's doable with one plate, a few spacers to put the battery tray bellow the top tray and some bends in the upper deck.

A dremel and a jigsaw is all you need.. (with some patience)

I mounted the motor that high so that I could keep the motor dead center. The main chassis and battery spots are lower than they look. The chassis is like 2.5mm lower than the front and rear skid plates, I'm mostly just a basher so going any lower would kill my ground clearance.

As for just using an upper plate..... My batteries are actually lower how it's setup now than if I only had the upper plate b/cus even with just an upper plate I couldn't hang the batteries lower than the skid plates or they would get destroyed!

yeah, that's why i said;
it's doable with one plate, a few spacers to put the battery tray bellow the top tray;

with battery tray i meant the entire assembly that holds the batteries, including a lowerplate to protect them.

If I lowered the upper plate my spur would hit the chassis, the shocks wouldnt mount right ( without some serious mods), and the motor wouldnt be center :(...... Trust me I thought about it :) But if you look close at the pictures you can see the main chassis is as low as it can go without snagging everything in its path... It bolts directly to the bottom of the skid plates!

Although one plate would have definately been lighter :)..... I also have a carbon fiber main chassis I'm building for it to :)

I don't know if you can tell from the pics or not, but my batteries and main chassis is like 3-5 mm's lower than ANY spot on a stock nitro revo!!!
