Lots of people using the Mamba Max ESC, but not the MM motors? - 06.27.2007, 07:28 PM

It seems that most people that use the Mamba Max ESC do NOT use the Mamba Max motors. Why is that? Are there reliability reason? I'm just curious as right now you can get any MM system for $183 with free shipping from BPP. That is WAY cheaper than any other brushless system I've found.

What say ye?

A lot of people here are using a MM esc with a different motor for 1/8 scale applications. The MM motor is designed for 1/10 scale and will not deliver the performance required for the heavier 1/8th scale vehicles.

oh - and welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum.

I use the mamba max in 1/10th and 1/8th scale vehicles. All of my 1/10th rigs use the mamba motors, even my 5 lb HPI MT2. They are pretty decent motors, just not enough power for 8 lb buggies, 10 lb truggies and 13 lb monster trucks.
