okay i am geting read yto build an e-jato. all i got so far is just a chassis. what parts should i look for/at for the truck? it will be a basher truck and not a racer. what are some good motors and escs to look at?
i did kinda do a search and figured i would ask questions related to my budget (which is a non factor.) and ask for advice on parts to look at since all i got is a chassis and nothing else. jsut the blue jato chassis. no shocks or servos or anything. also if you can put links to some choices of parts (motly electronics) i would be happy.
All you have is the metal chassis and that's it? Wow, you are starting from scratch aren't you?!
By the time you get all the parts, it'll most likely be substantially cheaper to buy a Jato and eBay the nitro specific parts (motor/tank/EZ start/etc).
I would start by getting the truck up to the point where you are ready to actually start the conversion. Then, you can see how much cash you have left.
well for this project dont worry about the cost as much as performance. if i was concerned about cost wouldnt have all 3 vxl's and wouldnt be gettin ready to install flextek arms in an emaxx.
Having done a jato conversion and owning a vxl rustler, I think the vxl rustler is a better platform for 2wd electric. I would suddest a crt.5 or hot bodies ligthning stadium 10. Both are better platforms than the jato, much more stable at higher speeds and better built IMO. I sold my jato, just did not like it.
I too like the Jato, but TBH it is a little hard to control. There is a reason why most (if not all) 2WD stadium trucks have the motor that far back; traction! I ended up making V2 of my Jato to lighten up the front and weighing down the rear just for that reason. Even so, the back end is still a little squirrely with BL power on dirt. Still fun though.
okay my ejato just got a little bit of a boost in time before it is ready. instead of building form the ground up i jsut bought a jato roller that will be used. currently that now puts the jato closer to completion than the revo.
Oh, I have a complete roller jato that has the battery tray and the motor mount already made. Guess I should have said that earlier. Oh well, if anyone else wants it pm me for pics and price.
