Any one use a roll cage for their Revo?

I have seen roll cages on Ebay. The one I am talking about goes under the body. I bought a Gorillamaxx G2R chassis. The guy who sold it to me included the used body he had. It has splits going from the hood of the body to the sides. I can tell the Lexon ripper due to crashes where the cab of the Revo was smashed into the tranny of the truck creating the splits. I think I will buy one of those inner roll cages if they will work? I don't like the looks of the exterior roll cages. Any thoughts or experiance? Also I am not sure what size to buy. I see they are built for the 3.3 or the 2.5. Which size is equal with the G2R chassis? Thanks.

Also I want to buy a new Lexon body. I want a lower profile. I replaced my Stampede body with a Jato. I want to do the same thing with my Revo. Any good ideas? Thanks (again)

The G2R is as long as a 3.3.

A good roll cage would be from RC-Solutions. You will just have to make a small cut out towards the back of the body.

If you like the low profile look then the RC Solutions cage isn't for you. It' requires the body to be mounted higher. I wouldn't get a cage again. It's a pain to do even simple things now. It's heavy I had to repackage every thing to get it to work. Yes it's strong I can stand on it. It's just not worth it. If I was to do it over again I would use a Proline Desert rat body and glue and rivet AL washers to the post mount holes to help with pushing though.

Two words: fuel cell.

A roll cage is nice because it helps protect the internals from a bad driver, but it sure makes working on your truck a PITA. And since the roll cage is metal and doesn't "give", and force exerted on it can potentially break whatever it is mounted to. I've had good luck with retaining the carry handle thingy - that and the Techno wing helps protect it quite well, and it light.

BTW Squee: you need to update your avatar! Now would be a good time to use that dancing kid one again. I always got a kick out of it!

Well I defiantly don't want the RC Solutions roll cage. Here is what I am thinking about:

They are made simple and light weight. 3\16 bar is not hard to bend back into shape is it takes a hard bash or crash. I can play with the set up. I can change the cage if I need to. I probably could build my own but I don't have that kind of time for a few months. $25 is not alot to spend to try it. Still thinking about.

No not a fuel cell, we do make the plates for fuel cells at work. Too big for this guy though.

The BEC lives in the fuel tank. I was going to have it so that you open the fuel lid to plug in the battery. Just like they do on plug in cars. It's just for a bit of humor.

I have one on my nitro revo - PITA...

The e-revi just has the handle and with a thick param 60 laxn body and wing it is fine.... Might get a titanium handle at some point but that's it

Thanks for the info. I will look into a handle rather than a cage. I should be able to make my own if nothing else. I am thinking about a Proline Quik Lidz Crowd Pleazer 2.0. Little more money but I can paint it myself.
