Neu confusion - 09.23.2007, 01:41 AM

you guys think it might be nice to throw in the kv ratings when talking about a particular motor? I find myself keeping a printout or page open to Neu's site just to use as a reference, because I don't care to memorize what every wind is.

I usually throw in the kv # ... cause really it's what matters in almost all discussion, not the wind #.

Example:

instead of saying:
I'm running a Neu 1512 2D....

say this:
I'm running a Neu 1512 2600kv... (and we can go figure the wind if we want to know)
or
I'm running a Neu 1512 2D 2600kv...

Jammin CRT MM/Neu 1515 1700kv
Losi 8IGHT MM/Neu 1512 1900kv
Kyosho 777
T4 MM 5700
B4 LRP
XX4 MM 7700
old losi xxcr, MM4600 4s lipo 70mph+

Good idea, I usually stay away from the neu threads, mainly cause i don't have a neu yet. It would be nice to see the kv. When you see someone new here asking whick motor to go with it is easy to say yes to a 200kv motor on 4s, rahter than x or y wind. Most of us know what works with a certain voltage in a certain vehicle, no need to have a 1521 in a buggy, and a 1509 will not work in a 1/8 mt.

I agree. That would make it much easier to read. There are only a few motors that I remember the KV of. Ex: 1515/1y, 1515/2.5d, Feigao XL motors, couple lehner motors. But other than those, I have no idea what the KV is by heart.

I am pretty familiar with the feigao rating, but only cause I have most of them!!! Other motors i still have to look up specs.

Feigao's numbers are easy, the Neu's though...... Yeah, I have no idea what people are talking about when I walk into a discussion of Neu's.

Its a bit ironic that you dont do that in your signature though?

I usually put the size and wind and then the kv in brackets, unless the same motor has been talked about for the last couple of posts.
I often have the speed calculator open as well, pretty much all the 1512's and 1515's are in it.

LOL... true!!! ha ha I'll fix that

I have a couple Neu mtoors... and sometimes I can't even remember what the winds are... cause I think of them as 1700 and 1900 kv motors.

I like to list the kv for other motors too, like Fiegao... they are easier, but still need to look up the kv if you are trying to help with gearing etc...

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I usually pull up the "Misc Data" page on my R/C site since it has those values right on there and loads faster than the Neu site...
