These cells look fantastic... they can discharge at 50C and only get to 34*C (93F), wow.

-They have even better cycle life than A123 cells.
-More power than lipo, possibly by a long shot, but W/kg not known.
-Safe like A123's
-Perform just as well at -30*C as they do room temp.
-Energy density appears to be the same as A123 tech, is the only downside.
-2.5V/cell terminal voltage

The problem is their main focus is on hybrid technology on a larger scale then our RC's. I worte the company to see what kind of solutions they might have for the rc community. I will let you know what I get in return. I also asked for more specs than the website gives. I was afraid to ask for prices.

That cell looks very promising, maybe we should all e-mail this company to persuade them to release their cells for the r/c community, this would definitely be worth it.

Those cells look really good. I'm liking that thermally safe, 50C continuous discharge. We would all have to make new battery trays because the cells are flat, but almost square; a very small problem.

Personally, I like the square form factor. Makes it much easier to fit as much in a small area without wasted precious R/C real-estate.

I always thought the weakness of A123 cells was the shape and weight. Since they are inherently safe, the Al shell is really unneeded and could significantly lighten the package allowing more P cells for the same weight while improving current capability.

Since much focus is being put on improving hybrid performance and safety, I think most advances in battery tech will come from hybrids and then make their into R/C and other similar applications.

Yeah, I agree Brian, at least they come in a prismatic form factor, they will save a lot of space compared to A123's.

But, who knows, the energy density might be a little greater than A123, but because of the efficiency, they will appear more energy dense. Next spring, when I start my electric motor bike conversion (1:1 scale we're talking), I hope that these will be available for it. I was planning on using A123 cells, but these looks even better for it!

Also, they say they use stacked plate design, instead of rolled; they claim it's more efficient, more robust, etc.

Well I did get a reply saiying they recieved my email and would reply in a timly manner. I hope that wasn't short for "we lost your email and wont reply." Any news would be good news I guess. I am not sure if I have enough knowledge to understand everything they say so I will post what info I get. I grew up working for my Dad who manages for Interstate Batteries but this is a whole new ball game.

10"(L) x 6.75"(W) x 6.75"(H) They are 12v/55Ah spiral cell/AGM batteries... they are the best lead acid batteries on the market, simply put. Although, not the best battery tech out there...

CrazyJR... are you talking about the batteries I am using in my conversion, or these Lithium cells?

Whow, I just looked at the dimensions, they are stupid... they appear to be shaped for EV cells (square shape). I am thinking they might have a low volumentric density.... which we can't afford for R/C. I will try and find out more, more calcs.
