MGM 16018 brake seting - 10.10.2007, 06:38 AM

I'll run a mechanical brake on my revo because i keep the 2 speed. But i see on the MGM website that the car/boat controler, like the 16018, we can't program the brake at 0%, we can't remove completly the brake , we can just program it at "light" setting.

Is i'am wrong or we can completly disable the brake on this controler?

Thank you

Curious to the tips, looking to do this myself. I was planning on turning brake to lightest, turning down brake EPA, and then using 3rd channel mixing for brake servo. Not sure how you would do it on a 2ch rx tho.

That's what Lutach tell me to try, so when i'll recieve it, i'll try it.

See if this works:

Prameter B: Try Value 8
Parameter I: Yes
Parameter J: No
If i understand, the value 8 in the parameter B is suppose to give a 3 secondes of delay before engage the brake, that's right????
So in 3 seconde, this is enough time to the mechanical brake to did the job...
If someone have others suggestion, fell free to tell it to me

I start to have somes regrets to not have take the Quark, on the Quark, the brake can be disable......

Just another question, is i'am better to use an linear BEC or a switching BEC with the MGM?? I know that this controler have already a powerfull BEC on it, but i prefered to run an external one.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I'm hardly the MGM expert, I've ran mine for about 10 min, and it will be a week or two before I have the truck all the way back together to really run it.

I have a 3 ch rx, so the plan I listed above should work fine. The problem I see you have is using a 2 ch rx. You can turn down the EPA, but then you will turn down the brake servo as well. So will have to find a balance there to get it to work.

However, you are keeping the two spd, so the matter may be moot. I'm trying to work out in my head if the motor brake can even be applied with the one way bearing in the 1st gear. I'm thinking not, so it won't matter about the motor brake, it will just stop the rotor to the spur gear. But I am very tired and can't work it out right now. If you have the tranny in your hands, play with it to see what it does. I'm pretty sure w/ the OWB it won't matter

I just left my brake on.
It has a one way bearing so it doesn't matter if motor stops or not.

Peace!

OK guys, i'll recieve my Futaba 3PM FASST yesterday, and i mix the chanel 2 with chanel 3, set the forward EPA chanel 2 at "100%" and the brake EPA at "0%", and set the forward EPA chanel 3 at "0%" and the brake EPA chanel 3 at "100%" and all is OK.
Don't have any brake on the MGM and full brake on the servo brake.

hello!
I have two mgm16018.
I use 1 for REVO.
Even if they are neutral, and REVO throws an accelerator up so that one way enters, brakes do not work.
I was able to hit mechanical brakes to take brakes intensely even if XT8 did it no matter how much.
Please teach a method to completely remove brakes of ESC.
What will you do?
I use FUTABA 3pkSUPER.
The present ESC setting
parameter
A 3(one way)
B 1(no brake)
C 5(1.3sec)
D 1(auto)
E 1(slow reduce rpm)
F 6(lipo 6cell)
G 15%
H 1(no)
I 2(yes)
J 1(no)
I look by a forum and made EPA BRAKE 0%, but when I am neutral, and even this setting throws an accelerator up, brakes suffer and do not suffer

to remove brakes you need the latest firmware that has option to set brake to 0
