Has anyone here ever had titanium parts anodized? I am just wondering if anyone has had any experience getting titanium parts anodized. I have no idea how much it costs and if it is durable.

You cant "anodize" titanium like you would aluminum. You can only color titanium by precisely oxidizing it; either by heating it up until it turns the color you want, OR by anodizing it with oxygen to produce color on the surface. If you want to try the heat method, just use a propane torch. But, unless evenly heated, you'll end up with a "gasoline puddle" color pattern.

I have some HPI titanium turnbuckles that are purple anodized, so it can be done.

Well I didn't say it was impossible. I was pointing out that it's a different process than what is used to color aluminum and other metals.

I have no idea about the cost, but durability is very high since in titanium's case it isn't a coating on the surface. The actual metal is altered to reflect a specific frequency of light.

I've done titanium turnbuckles before. There are several home brews that work... it's an electrolysis thing, using a current and a chemical solution. I don't recall what liquid I used. I think I used like 35-40 volts (four or five 9v batteries hooked together).... one lead goes into the solution and the other connects to the metal and it's dipped.

I got a gold color.... but most were doing blue/purple. I'm sure you can google and find some ideas.
