dual brushless emaxx! - 12.17.2007, 01:31 PM

just wondering if any one sow this. http://cgi.ebay.com/Traxxas-E-maxx-B...QQcmdZViewItem

seems pretty cool. but for 50-60mph. i think u can hit that with only one motor. and save a lot of weight. but still it looks sick lol.

Yeah, you can hit that speed with a single motor setup for sure. Just run 6s or 8s lipo on an appropriate motor. Would be cleaner, more efficient, and probably less expensive.

Thats stupidity. I've hit 50mph with just 12 cells and a little Lehner XL...No need for dual Novak crap...

21 Nimh 3300 Cells. This truck must be getting close to 20lbs! What a waste of time. I couid understand using 2 8000 7.4 packs and gearing it up to produce some good speed, but a neu/lehner with a hv esc would be able to produce more power and speed, with better runtimes. Something like 8s 4000mah lipo thru a 1515 neu would easily blow the lid this turd!

Looks cool...but thats about it...

If I pump 5S through my 1940/7 I'd beat this thing so hard in a drag race that he'd flip over from the air pressure of me blowing by him.

I was just reading on another forum how "cool" these hv novak systems are. Also how one guy has one in his converted savage on 2s. Ahhh. I think the novak HV stuff is getting a bit long in the tooth and the other systems have caught up and are so far ahead now it's not funny.

Savage: FLM Conversion, 6s, MMM, CC 1520.

M18MT: Quark 33A, Y22S 6000kv, FP 2s Lipo

Most of what you guys mentioned is correct, and I am sure that most of us could crush this truck in the long haul, but there is some good gear here for that low price if it sells in that range. Most of us end up spending from $1k to $2k on our vehicles, but not everyone can afford to start out that high. That truck would probably be a good starter truck for someone just getting into the sport/hobbie, and wanting to get his feet wet. Of course none of us would buy it, but we have a huge head start on that kind of truck. For a noobie it might be a great way to learn. Wouldn't you say that this is much better than starting with the RTR Emaxx out of the box.

He could have spent the same money and had a good setup with a single motor.

That really isn't a bad price for all that stuff though. I wish I could afford it. I'd buy it up just to have all the parts!

The HV-Maxx systems and Powerstroke shocks alone are worth more than he's asking for it!

Seriously.

Call me crazy but I actually tried this once.

I had it geared with 22 tooth pinions on a 65 tooth spur. The thing would lay black marks on my concrete driveway. LOL

Top end was 55 or 60mph, but It hardly ever seen that. Talk about unstable at high speed. It was like a fat lady swinging her hips. LOL

It was HEAVY! I had 12 Nimh cells powering each ESC. I could have moved up to 14 cells but I kept slinging the pins out of the drive shafts even with removeable locktite.

I couldn't get the diffs to hold together either.

Aaah well, we live and learn
