Ok this maybe a stupid question I just got the Revo RC Monster Electric motor mount and I am using a Neu 1515/1y finned motor and the rear support does not seem to fit because of the fins on the can, I see there are 2 rear supports in the kit for bigger and smaller cans and the bigger one almost fits, if the fins on the can were not there it would...or am I being an idiot and not doing something right?

Use the bigger one and try to flip the support around 180 degrees. If you already tried that or it doesn't work, just use some washers to space the rear support. When I had my 1515/1y in my revo, I didn't even use the rear support....

I won't fit, there is not enough material on the rear brace to grind enough away or it would be paper thin ...so I don't need the rear support ? guess the finned cans on 1515 neu's are just real big...

I got one of the first mounts Mike made for the revo and it only came with one support that was designed for 36mm dia. can motors. So, it did not fit and I really did not need since the motor rested against the bottom of the mount...

Strange it should fit the finned cans perfectly- thats why Mike included the two mounts, one for smooth cans and the other for finned ones like the neus. Got a pic of the problem?

I seem to remember something about the 1515 being too long. IIRC, the 1512 can be made to work.

The rear support isn't really needed with the Neu's, but it would help take some stress off the front mount where it attaches to the bottom of the mount. See if you can find a chunk of hard-ish rubber, trim it, and stuff it under the motor. I did this when I had my own hand-made mount and it worked well.

ok I got it to fit but the support is angled and I thought it would be perpenducular with the mount flipped around opposite of what I have in the pic....is this right?

Well, it fits, but since you're only using one screw, I don't know how much support it's going to provide...

Ah, I see. Brian was right, it is only good for the 1512- the 1515 is way too long. I think stuffing a rubber or wooden wedge underneath would provide some extra support, but given the thickness of the front mount, it shouldnt flex at all really.

I don't know how advisable this would be, but couldn't you use some spacers between the mount and the support? That would push the support back far enough to clear the motor fins...

turn the support around... you have it the wrong way. You have the wrong side of the support facing out.

The little ledge on the support should sit on top of the aluminum bottom plate and that is what provides the support. The screw just keeps it from falling out is all.
