The change may be upon us, brushless runing with Nitro -
01.16.2008, 07:33 PM
Was checking some rules in the nitro category on RC pro's site http://nitrooffroad.rcprosites.com/s.../contentid/236 check out the rules for MT and stadium truck, This could be an opportunity for the electric revolution we have been anticipating. Unfortunatly there are no rules for truggy or buggy
I have sent an Email for some specifics, on some things i wasn't sure of. Will let you know what i find out
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

Dude! This is an awesome find! I really commend the RC Pro series for trying to makes things fun, competitive, and interesting. And look, they now allow .15 rtr engines and 4 strokes in the 2wd class just to boost the turnout. Good job

Maybe they will enforce a motor and battery size maximum? Like 280 size motors (s can only) and 3s lipo (up to 10c 2500 mah). That way the nitro guys can feel better about their 1 hp motors (and piss poor acceleration).

I hope not ! The way they have it now it looks like they're thinking more about E-Maxx's and Novaks ESC. Rules say 1-2 motors and up to 16.8v, nimh, nicd, or lipo. And they're doing stop and go pit stops so battery size shouldn't matter.

In the rules, it says multi speed transmission, I wonder if they are going for conversions, if so the New Emaxx is out. I sent an Email about it and the chassis configurations allowed, I will let you know what is said

wow, what engines do the guys run at your track? i run a 1515 2.5d on 5s and run very, very close to the nitros in terms of top speed and acceleration. my acceleration is a little better out of the corners, but top speed is a little slower. i run an xt8 with 14/48 gearing.

This is great news.
It will be interesting what they say about the new emaxx.
However, I am really disappointed to see the voltage regulation. Why is 4S the limit? If anything, 4S should be the minimum voltage allowed not the max.
What possible justification can be given to set the voltage limit on a MT to a measly 16.8v?
Ha Ha

I can see a 10L and 16.8v doing very well in a light truck with lipo. the 16.8 is going to put a hurting on esc and motors for higher amp systems to compete

I think they are trying to equal the playfield, someone could easily run a 7xl in 6s and just fly and the Smokers would either freak or complain
