Dewalt 18V Nano Li-Io - 01.17.2008, 10:07 AM

Does anyone know if the Dewalt 18V Nano Li-Io battery packs are A123 cells? Maybe just 5 cells instead of 10? Nano seems to usually be associated with A123 cells.

I was wondering the same thing... my brother has one of these packs and it almost looks too small to have A123 cells in it. Maybe he can take the case apart and check it out.

I'd like to know too. Possibly a different form factor A123 maybe?

There is another A123 form factor, the 1100mah cells. I think they come in Black & Decker XPR tools, or something like that.

The really light ones with the new attachment style. All of the old ones are 1800 nicads.

Ah, Dewalt. Damn, those are expensive. I also found this one by Black & Decker:

These are the ones you want

http://search.ebay.com/search/search...trypage=search

$10 a cell normally, you just have to hack the case open or get a security bit for them.

Black and decker own dewalt from what I can tell, so that's not that strange.

The 18 volt packs seem to be just as expensive as the 36 volt packs. Deffinately not half.

Black & Decker does own De Walt. The new B&D cells are the new smaller A123 cells. I assume the De Walt are also, but have not verified.
