Well the little I have dabbled in electrics before Deans was the way to go am I to assume this is still the case??? Let me know as my mamba 2200kv combo came in and I'm anxiouse to get her up and running

Deans are still good, and probably the most popular.
They sell some mock ones with grip now,

Traxxas connectors are good as well.'

The ones I am most interested in are the new losi ones. They look cool, but I cant tell what size the bullets are.

the ec3s are 3.5mm the ec5s should be 5 or 5.5mm

I also still use deans or 4mm plugs(10th scale packs with the sockets built in). I think I will try the ec5 losi connectors for my next 8th scale though.

Deans is probably the most popular, so that is a big reason to use them. The traxxas ones are really user friendly in soldering and connecting/disconnecting. The Losi ones look like really nice performing connectors with the bullets and you can't revery the polarity like you could with just naked bullets...

I personally use deans.

I like the Traxxas connectors. They're easy to solder, better current rating than deans, bigger and easier to grip. There are also many packs available with Traxxas connectors already on them. I do use deans but only on my 1/18 stuff.

Anyways, I use deans. Never really had an issue with them. They are not too fond of high voltage sparking, but not many connectors are. Traxxas plugs look good for some applications. But they are a bit large for some applications. Plus they are a bit of a pain to solder and assemble, compared to deans. I do like the ec5 connectors, look good for high draw 4s applications... As long as the connectors will hold up. The high quality bullets like CC sells look to be the best bet for bullets that will last.

Deans here for me. Even if something better came out, it would have to be quite a bit better for me to go around changing the connectors in every vehicle, ESC, and charge adaptor I have.

I have no solid proof as I can't remember where I seen that Deans where rated for 60A and another place I seen that Traxxas plugs where rated at 100A. It does make sense as there is a much larger contact area with the traxxas plugs.

BTW none of that info came from the traxxas forum! LOL Never been a member there and have only visited the site when following links from here

Contact area is not much more than 1.5 times as much. As far as contact pressure goes, the traxxas plug just relies on the flex of the plastic, where the deans has a spring to hold it together. I do not run traxxas plugs, but I did have to install 47 of them for a buddy (he has 3 pedes and an emaxx, and he has a butt load of stick packs). I did notice that the build quality of the plastic varied widely. Some of them snapped together very tightly, and others were almost loose. Deans are better in that respect. i have had 1 deans fail, and that was used underwater, and the little spring piece coroded off. Some dielectric grease would have cured that issue.
