Nope, no problem at all as long as your burst rating can accommodate the current demand.

Aaahhh, gotcha My top fueler and funny car are both direct drive and even though they don't have spurs/pinions, and even the diff ratio is never changed, I can still tune the car to do what I want it to... and I hope I prepped my tires well enough to get max traction.

Well its been a while but finally got it together...

Final set-up is:

Megatech Dragster
HPI Motiv BL ESC
HPI 5700 Motor
Spektrum Radio
3s 30c LiPo (Going 2s)

Attached you will see the set up. Used a Tekno motor mount.

also you will see what happened about 200 feet down my front street.

This thing is stupid fast...

Far enough that there is a piece I couldn't find.... I'm just glad the thing didn't put it into a tumble...

I got the 5700 for a great price. 4600 would probably be better but we will see...
