I won't ramble on to much. I wanted something that would put simply, run stuff over. It started out with parts just laying around in the shop so if you see "Junk Yard" as a name anywhere that's why.
Truck Specs
- 1/6th scale Chevy Silverado body from Wallie World
- Modded TXT chassis with extended upper shock mounts (I have ahd some chassis plates design in CAD I've been trying to get machined but they're to big for most people to do)
- Integy Savage shocks de-anodized and running MGT springs 40wt oil
- Junfac rod ends, 10-32 all thread sleeved with 1/2" OD Delrin
- X-factor Axles converted to 17mm hexes (From a Mammoth ST). Rear Axle is locked front axle has 10k oil. Custom Servo mount I designed and had laser cut out of 16ga steel.
- Ofna full offset rims (I want to change out to something nicer)
- Jumbo Kong tires (8.5" OD)
- E-maxx Trans converted to single speed (This is the weak link right now as you can hear in the video)
- Revo drive shafts (took about 4 complete shafts to make them long enough)
I still have a pretty long to-do list for this thing but it sure is a blast to drive. Right now I'm looking into what kind of Maxx trans I can build to hold up to the power this is dishing out. I do plan on gearing down a bit. I don't need all the top end this thing has right now.
I originally had a big 600xl setup to go in it but I really want smooth low end power. I like crawling a lot and today it proved that it can crawl really well despite it's massive size and high COG.
I'll definitely get some good video of it soon. Right now I'm trying to get all the small things buttoned up and getting it running right.
A complete set of running lights would be icing on the cake, and look Bitchin'
There are lights installed in the headlights and tail lights from when it was a Walmart runner. They are all still there. Just gotta get time to wire them back up with the new electronics.
She weighs in a 20lbs. Over all length is 31", track width is 19.5" with a wheelbase of 18.5".
Maybe you guys can give me some input. I have the older E-maxx tranny in it right now from the 3906 truck. I know that the newer E-maxx trannies will not bolt directly up but I made my own trans mounts for the older trans anyway. Would it be worth fitting in the newer style trans and replacing this older one?
Here's a shot of the trans after being converted to single speed,
