What is 5 turn limit in kv ratings?

On teamtekin.com the 5T Redline is 3700kv, is that the limit of the esc? Could the esc handle that 3700kv on 3s in a 1/10 buggy?

Yes I use that combo on a Slash with 3s. Slash is heavier than any 1/10 buggy. It will perform perfect.

That's a 5T 1/10 motor limite. So our 537 would be a 5T 3700 motor.

On 3s that's probably going to work ok. Keep an eye on motor temps, make sure your gearing is correct.

All producers have different kv ratings for different "T" ratings. What is the Kv limit for Tekin R1 esc. tekin 5t motor is 3700kv but there is a lot of 5T motors around 5000kv, can R1 handle that motors?

The KV rating isn't what the limit is created by. The limit is created by the wind count and amount of current that would create. We could care less how fast the motor spins.

So, I can combine any >=5T motor with tekin R1, right?

Sounds like you can use any motor that does not pull more than the amp rating of the esc... As the tekin dude said, keep a close eye on temps. You can gear any motor to draw tons of amps...

Yeah pretty much. It's all about current draw. Worst case scenario the unit should thermal. What are you doing with this setup?

I would do nothing very extreme. I want to use a castle 7700kv motor on 2s on my 1/10 onroad car. Is it possible and if not can I use at least a 6900kv castle motor? I will try different but conservative gearing but off course don't want to gear a 7700kv motor for same top speed as a 6000kv motor.

Actually that is the main problem. Like you give nt exact kv values the producer of these motor don't give winding numbers. There is only this information on the product page for 6900kv motor if it helps :This motor is best compared to a 6T brushed motor on steroids, with none of the brushes or comms to ever wear out
For 7700kv motor they say: The 7700Kv motor is roughly equivalent in top speed to a very good 5t to 7t brushed motor on 6 cells

Hmm, yeah hot very helpful now is it.

This is why we labeled our motors with the wind designation up front: 632 being a 6T 3200 kv motor, 448 being a 4T 4800 kv motor,etc.

Try it and see. Gearing will play a huge roll in this along with proper air flow etc. Worst case the unit should thermal and turn off til cooled off.
