If you get a 12s you can run 12 cells on it. It won't have the same power as a 8L will. I think you may be underestimating the power of a brushless motor. My brother ran a 8L in a emaxx which is like twice the weight or more of a rusty. It was breaking up stuff in the emaxx.

What motor do i need to get this truck to run like the one i the video? I might go with te RC10T4. Does anyone know if this is a strong truck? I think the tranny is better that a pede. I wan to be able to go around 35-40 in sand.

I was looking at his in the video. It looks as if he has a s can or 380 on his.I could not tell. It looked more like a 380c. If that is the case the 12s is probably what he had. That is just a guess though. Search thru and find the one of camels mt 2. On 9cells it was kicking like the buggy.

I found rc camel's thread, but the video wouldnt work. Can a 12s go that fast, and proform that well? I made a list of posibilities (sp) I think for know ill go with The last one then eventually ill get the Lehner 3100. If i can talk my parents into geting me the $200 truck that would help alot, so then i would go with the Lehner 3100 first. i read that the Feigao's have bad bearings, and sand can get insdie the motor and ruin it. The Team associated RC10T4 Factory truck has a aluminum motor plate, so that would help cool the motor right? Will the 3100 Lehner last long running on 12 cells?

i've got a ft t4 and its an awesome racer. the only things i've broken are 3 fr arms, 1 rr arm, and i rr body/wing mount. this truck has been in some nasty crashes and seems to be ok. as far as bashing it, i've heard they aren't real tough. also, the tranny is pretty strong, but the diff requires work to hold up to brushless power. i would replace all the steel diff balls with some good ceramic diff balls. they'll last a whole lot longer. hope this helps!

p.s.- i run a gtb 5.5 in mine, pretty fast, likes wearing flat spots on my diff balls.

For those of you that watched that video, I made it. I was the one with the t-maxx, and the electric was a friends T2. It runs a hacker C-40 with a Quark 80B controller.

I'm not sure what he was geared that day, -but I can find out. Yes, it is fast.

I'm running my T4 with a Lehner XL-4200 and a 3S pack, and I can almost keep up with him, -but not quite.

That's a pretty hot setup he's got, -but it's heavy with 12 cells onboard.

Hopefully you guys like the video. It takes roughly 1 hour per minute of video, -a lot more than people think!

that was a cool little vid man is that t-maxx running an rb323? it seems like it's got some kick...and James running 12 cells you have ot also account for the sus. it'll be a little softer with the extra weight...if you save up and get 3s lipo pack it should give you around the same performance as 12 cells with less weight...though i am not 100% sure cause i am new to the lipo and bl scene

OH BTW i have a reedy neo 9turn with sphere combo in my rusty on stock gearing and it's pretty darn fast...waiting for a rebuild cause i broke the front sus. and stripped a spur..so now it's getting a full alu make over.......this motor is pretty fast with only 6 matched 3700's i can't imagine what it'd be like with li-po's and better gearing...it's pretty fast now but i gets too hot...so i need to re gear...and luckily i haven't chewed up my idler gear cause it's not even aluminum.......rusty is a great truck for this type of thing imo...y buy another car when you can get a rusty off ebay for cheap...I see them go for like $70 and lower all the time as roller

It's the Sirio .23, -which is basically the same engine. It has an RB 086 pipe and is geared 20/72. Yeah, it does have some serious power. I finally got the drivetrain to the point where I can go and run several tanks of fuel before I grenade something. Thanks for the compliments on the video, -I never would have imagined that anyone from this forum would have found it, but the internet makes it a much smaller world.

Yeah, my 3S gives his 12 cell rig a good run for his money, but it falls just a little bit short. Some more gear, and I could easily pull him with my 9920 controller, -but it would get hot. Geared the way it is right now (20/87), the power meter shows max current at around 90 amps, -so I'm already knockin' on the door of being "done", -at least with a 3S. I have the advantage on overall weight, -his rig is heavy, -which does make it more stable at the higher speeds.

this is true......i wonder if you bumped up to 4s and ran a fan on everything would you smoke him? I just bought two 8000 mah 2's and 1 3s and a hyperion charger....for my bl project...it should prove to be pretty darn fast

Oh yeah, I could spank him easily with a 4S, -and it probably wouldn't overheat if I geared down (which I would need to do anyway). I know that my 7020 can tolerate short 90 amp bursts without going thermal, -so I would like to think that the 9920 would be good for a short run at 120-130 without shutting down.

So, how are you going to arrange your (2) 2S (1) 3S setup? -Or did you plan on even doing that?

I'm always curious about people's success/failure stories about mixing and matching lipoly packs in series and parallel setups.

Regardless, your setup will be plenty fast.

Is $60 shipped a good deal for a fairly new T3 roller?

I was going to use 2 2s's in my rc10gt project witha mgm 120 and a wander 12s and run the 3s in my tourer....but i will not wire them in parellel so that i can use in my tourer i need to find a lehner 5300 or something for it...cause i want it to be pretty fast as well it's a pro 4 btw

OH btw james yeah that's a fair price.....people say the t2 is pretty tough but i hear good things about bl's in a t3 so have at it...i wanna see pics of it when it's done...

James, thanks for the compliments on the video, -comments like that make it all worthwhile! I make the videos to motivate people into getting their stuff built and going out and having fun, -that's what it's all about!

As for the $60 T3 roller, -I would say that's a pretty good deal. Just make sure it's complete. I don't know a lot about the T3, but I know my friends T2 looks a lot tougher than my T4. I think my T4 may handle slightly better, but I also think my T4 is also a little more fragile than his T2.

Regardless, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the associated trucks. The stealth transmission seems to be up to the task of handling BL power without too many hickups. I have smoked a ball diff in mine, but I managed to get quite a few "drive it like I stole it" sessions through it before it puked.

Keep us posted on the buildup!
