got the 8xl in yesterday...!! - 04.20.2007, 07:18 PM

ok so i got my 8xl in lastnight and was VERY excited to get it going! ran in to a bunch of problems... lol... heres my story

1. right when i got it i realized i did not have a pinion the correct size.... had to find a freind who had the same size... that took about an hour...

2. when i was about to solder on everything i noticed i had no idea which wires went to which... had to look that up. took about 5 min

after i found everything out i started to solder it all together. no biggy... took about an hour to get everything wired up and clean looking (on the pos and negative i use deans plugs.. that took a little while...)

3. everything was wired up and ready to go except batteries. i plugged in my rx pack... dead... had to wait 30 min.

4. after waiting i went to put the batteries together and realized i did not have the custom y harness i made.. looked around for about 30 min and could not find it... i was pissed.. lol end of yesterday i went to sleep.

next day (today) i will have to make the stupid y harness again... lol there goes another 30 min (i take my time to try and get it looking nice)

about a 3 and a half hour job! gosh!

totally worth it though! ill get vids and what not later!

thanks for reading my essay! lol...

Great! What did you put it in? And BTW, it doesn't matter which way the motor wires are attached - except you swap any two wires if it turns the wrong way...

Nice. I'm running the same set-up in my Jammin when it gets here. Had any heat problems with that set-up?

If you still have the shifter mechanism, you probably don't have the servo linkage quite right.
