Here is a conversion I am in the process of on a Jato 3.3. It got old really quick having to tune the nitro motor all of the time so I decided to change over to electric. My plans are to go with a brushless setup with a high Mah Lipo battery I just haven't decided on which ones yet and I also wanted to make sure everything would work before I invested the money. It has the single speed trans so I could have braking without using two servos, a 58t integy spur gear and a 22t robinson racing pinion. I used RC Monster's electric Revo motor mount and had to modify the bottom of the mount with new holes and trim one side wich took about 10 minutes after that it pretty much bolted up. Don't mind how messy it is right now this is just testing with some old parts I had from about ten years ago. Let me know what you thing and if you have any questions let me know. Also if anyone has opinions about what brushless setup to go with or spur and pinion I should try let me know.

so are you using the rcmonster revo mount? did you have to drill the chassis to make it fit! i'm getting ready to do an ejato also! been lookin for info. as for a motor.. how about a mamba max 4600 or 5700

There are a few e-jato conversions around. I've done two myself (the "BL Conversions" link in my sig). The only problem I have is getting the power to the ground. It helps to add a little weight in the rear battery box if that is a problem.

I used the rcmonster revo mount but I didn't modify the chassis. I modified the rcmonster mount. I cut the side off where it gets small and then redrilled the holes in the mount as far to the opposite side of where they were origiinally. Then I just mounted it on top of the original motor mount that came in the jato so I can adjust gear mesh with the screws in the bottom or the ones that go into the motor. I may end up having to buy a better motor mount that is not cast like the traxxas one is and I also might have to take a little material away from the front of the transmission housing depending on what pinion and spur I end up using for clearance.

Sounds like you've found a new motor mount for Mike to sell. Nice work on the conversion so far- check out BrianG's calculator for gearing/motor choices, but a MM4600 on 3s would be insane, or a 5700 on 2s would be great.

I don't know if e-jatos would be as popular as other vehicles (like the Revo) to make it worth the effort IMO. If you want a stadium truck, there are a lot of existing ones out there that will work fine. I just did the Jato for the challenge and the fact that traxxas parts are super easy to get around here. A piece of regular angle aluminum from onlinemetals.com has worked swimmingly.
