Quick question - Can this be mounted left or right?

I have my motor mounted on the left - The web sight shows right hand mounting.

yes it can (i am not 100 percent sure but if it is the one i am thinking of it should be able to do it). give it a try but i am pretty sure it works on either side.

I looked at their site and they are all right mounted - I'm hesitant to blow the cash as the screws are countersunk

Yeah, it looks like it is meant specifically for mounting to one side. I suppose you could counter sink the other side, but that would weaken it. Does it HAVE to be on the other side, or can the other stuff be moved? Or, you could use the stock or optional Traxxas mount and cut off the extra Mickey Mouse ear...

I currently took the dremel to the Emaxx plate but was looking for something slightly cleaner - My hack left a little of the spur gear exposed i.e. if something moves sideways it would hit spur not the blackplate...

sheesh, hard to believe my truck was ever this stock, lol. this is an older shot when i first got the G1 motor plate - and i'm confirming what others have already said, but due to the countersunk screw holes it will only mount to the left.

Well, you could always just trim off the spare motor mount-ear in a curve, then strip all the anodizing off with 'greased lightning' or something similar, and it will look pretty much the same as the G1 motor mount.

yesterday,i've got a stock motor mount,i was thinking about what to do with that and i've found :
i will drill and cut it to do a copy of gorilla's

:

there are the two different mounting positions,i've removed the mickey ear

but i hate the right side of the plate

if anyone have an idea of how to designe it,i'm here

sorry man, brian was right i did not think when i posted i though you where refering to the old motor mount not the new one.

mini-mad, you mean re-design the area that was been removed to tidy it up? I might have an idea or two if thats what you mean.

I think just removing the material on the outside of the red line will tidy it up alot, and still protect any wires/batteries etc from rubbing against the spur. Once the mount is trimmed to how you like it, strip the anodizing with oven cleaner & then polish it with fine steel wool and wd40 or metal polish if you have some, and it will look just as good as the proper G1 mount.
