Browsing on ebay... - 09.22.2007, 01:24 AM

I was browsing on ebay today for misc. brushless items, and came across a few things I would like some opinions on.

1) Turborix ESC: http://cgi.ebay.com/Turborix-MBC-100...QQcmdZViewItem

2) Mega motor: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=016

3) Quark 65amp ESC: http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-Quark-...QQcmdZViewItem
(yes I knwo Mike sells it in the store as well. I just found ti on ebay so I though I'd ask about it as well)

I am mainly thinking about #2 and #3 to run in my RC10GT. Of course I can always use the MM ESC and/or Feigao or CC motor, but if I can get another good ESC for cheaper and better motor for a little more, why not? And I would like to try something new as well.

Let me know what you think. Thanks.

1. Turborix ESC is rebranded HobbyWing ESC better buy from HERE
Its plane ESC and dont work with Pistol type Transmitter, you will need Pistix adapter. Plane ESC's are not so common they not so sensitive like CAR esc and have long Spool up delay. No Brake and Reverse option so you need mechanical brake. Not recommend to use plane ESC. But ESC quality is realy good and specs are right.
Soon HobbyWing lunch on market 100A CAR ESC so lets wait

Oh, ok. Thanks for the info. I though I remember a member posting a picture of a car ESC looking almost identical to it, which is why I asked about it.

What do you guys think about the quark and Mega motor?

The quark esc is a great controller. I have used mine in a 2wd emaxx on 5s and it worked fine, did not get too hot either. Not sure about the mega motors, have not tried one yet!

That motor isn't big enough for a RC10...No where near it. Its 1.1" in diameter...Its more of a 16/18th scale motor.

Thats what confused me. I never knew such a small motor can run so many cells.

Would running a Feigao 7L be sufficient for the RC10GT besides for the overheating problem? What Neu motors would be designed for a 1/10 scale stadium truck? Maybe a 1509/1y on 3s or 1509/1.5d on 2s? If I run a Neu, then I'll probably buy the Quark 65amp ESC, otherwise, I'll just go with the MM.

BTW - Would a quark 65 be able to power a 1/8 buggy, truggy or MT? How about a 1/12 scale truck like a CRT.5?

Let me know. Thanks.

Edit: lincpimp answered my last question.
