This is our OFNA hyper PBS electric conversion:
We use a NEU 1912-1Y "ORK" motor and run it on 12S lipo with a CC phoenix 85HV. We choose that motor because it spin at max 36K rpm (max torque between 20K & 30K) therefore minimum gearing mod was required.
However a metal casing has to be made to seal the motor from dirt.
We first powered it with four TrueRC 11.1V 2100mAh packs in serie, these packs had powered a swift helicopter for a year so they were good for a suicide retirement. We didn't how much power the system could drain so we didn't wanted to risk fresh packs.
The buggy have an infinite amount of power, top speed in the 80-90 km/h range and it throw rocks so hard it's almost dangerous.
We had a small bashing session today in a dirtbike track and recorded it with eagletree micropower. The prop/headspeed measurement is actually ground speed calculated from motor rpm/gear ratio and tire diameter.
From that graph we can extrapolate a run time of about 14mins
