I've got an HB Lightning also and its awesome. The breakers between the concrete panels on my side of Houston kill running anything else on the streets and there are a few bad ones that even upset my 'Lightning. My 4-Tec has been airborne once too many times and at 50+, it will put a hurting on a body shell.

I've recently seen a school parking lot out walking that's asphalt and I'm gonna have to ck it out an hope the school district police over there have a sense of humor and don't run me off too quick!

10th isnt lame....

I race 10th scale on road, so I dont need to hear that


But for out front bigger is funner

I am currently looking into one of the fdm inferno gt conversions, he uses the 2 speed tranny and tells me the car will rocknroll on iether 3s or 4.

Not to race, 10th is killer for racing. I just meant that on less than perfect surfaces the 10th scales have issues, where these buggy style cars have enough shock ahd suspension to deal with a crappy parking lot. I have ran my tt-01 on fresh blacktop and it is insane, it is also geared for 80+mph and on a calm day did 74, with more to go. I just have more fun with the bigger vehicles.

Not sure why the two speed would be necessary? It may if your motor is too weak and the gearing is off and the batteries can't keep up. Oh wait, I just described a FD setup!! HAHAHA

His stuff is too expensive for what it is, just bolted on. The use of the cheaper motor and esc is not reflected in the price.

Yeah, I still have fun with my cyclone out front, but the sound of CF scraping the ground, and rubbing the curbs hurts.....

WAY over prices, POS motor mount, uses 2pd and manual brakes (Just more weight) crappy batt holder, and all cheaply made

Plus the brakes must feel weird on his conversion cuase the brake servo is just added to the throttle channel with a y cable. That means that the servo has to go full travel if you have the throttle pegged and go to full brakes. Maybe I am just used to the super quick esc brakes that decent electric conversions use. If you had a good 3 channel radio and mixed the channels so that the servo was at neutral until the brakes were applied that would most likely work and feel right.

Still though, needs a nicer servo with torque to get awsome braking power, and then added weight, and room....

I like BL brakes better

My buddy and I did a Kyosho Inferno GT. Running a Neu 1512 1900kv motor on 5S with a Compro 16016 and GRP Rally tires, we had it over 90 mph several times. What was impressive is that we also wiped out several times at speeds in excess of 90 mph and we never broke any parts on the car. I'd have to say that it's pretty tough.

I have been told that because of the gt's chunky off road suspention it is near bullet proof and very hard to break anything plus they say its one of the funnest road cars ever. Drifting at 40-50 mph, sign me up!

Sorry, no pics or video. For some reason, whenever we're doing crazy crap, like running an RC car at over 90 mph, shooting video never crosses my mind.

And yes, the Inferno GT is one tough car. I'm going to buid another with a more conventional/practical setup, so that I can run it for more than just top speed runs.
