I had a blast, so i'd really like to go racing again, and was wondering if anyone else was going to go (Daf , Serum ? ) :) Hopefully I'll have my new Neu setup ready
They have MT, Truggy and BL classes. They say RC Monster motorsports is sponsoring it even (along with many others.) Was wondering if that was Mike or not.
Brushless Class? I wasn't planning to go but I may able to be convinced. Who is definitely going?
I'm on the fence...
Oh, and is there a last chance qualify on Sunday?
And how long are the Electric Mains?
DM
I saw somewhere that said yes there was a qualify on Sun before racing started. As far as mains go, I'm looking to find that out myself. I was thinking this was a Pro level event where the people would just piss on the electros mixing in, but just looked at the flyer and said BL class. cool
I also thought I saw someone said mains were 10min, but don't consider this confirmed by any means.
Perhaps I'll shoot the guy an email and see what the deal is. Never know exactly what "brushless" means.
Any vehicle of 1/10 & 1/8th class with a brushless system is able to compete. Li - po pack and regular packs are allowed. See u then....Thanks.
He was mum on the main length tho, but obviously as a mashup class they are not going to be running 20 min mains. I would say 5min quals and 10min mains like before. I saw this somewhere else and seems reasonable. I'll find out more if I can, but I would just plan for this.
However, I'm a bit confused what the devil the event is. All classes are listed as "side by side" racing

I saw from the pix last year they have a regular race course w/ jumps and all, but also they have a classic MT layout w/ painted lids as crushed cars and all, like you would see in 1:1 MT stadium racing. ummm...
It sounds a bit silly to run truggies this way, but only the buggies are listed as "nascar style racing w/ jumps"
OTOH they have lots of prizes to give away, so perhaps worth going to regardless. Lemme see if I can clarify this...
I also emailed RCMTRA and was told they definitely will have two tracks. One Side x Side and one a regular Barn track layout. I recall from previous races they just take a notch out of the Barn track for the SxS stuff, with the Barn being even bigger, it's no problem.
Anyway he was a bit uncommittal about a last chance qualify on Sunday, the exact comment was:
"There is and maybe a qualifying course on Sunday before the Mains."
That's a copy and paste...anyway I think there will be a last chance on Sunday so I'm going to try to make it to this race.
Finnster - who are you? What did you have at the Bash?
I didn't get a chance to talk to you I think. I saw you running the truggy or buggy, but the day went quick and didn't get a chance to meet everybody. Had a blast tho my 1st time racing and learned alot. Fixed a number of the setup problems, so I hope to go out and find many more. :)
I'm going to do the best I can, OTOH, I won't have everything ready, I may have to paint my deck, and rain is 60% probable for Sat, and poss in Sunday. I would hate to go al the way upthere and get rained out. If Sat gets rained out, would they still run on Sun? I can't imagine being able to do it losing a whole day of quals.
hehe, I actually hope it gets rained out till next week. truck needs work and I have lipos on order. I can run my basher 10S A123 pack, but its a bit heavy to race w/.
I knew it was going to be rained out. It was a torrent here. I'm going to try to be there on Sun, but we have guests at the house here on Sat.
I think I've got enough of the quirks worked out of my new MGM setup to take it out to the track for some fun. Drove it around today and it was smooth and fast. I'll just have to be careful not to break anything :)
