It will if you can gear low enough where it doesn't cogg. Even then, that's still too close to the "cogg-threshold" for my liking. You can help this by increasing start power and throttle control.

Besides the 2.5d is 1700kv if I'm not mistaken. Running at 4s (the MM max), that's only ~25krpm. To get any speed, you'd need to gear higher, which is pretty much opposite from you want to do.

I would suggest getting a higher kv Neu motor shooting for ~40k rpm @ 14.8v (kv between 2500 and 2700) and gear down.

I find this odd that this question is still being asked. There should be a sticky thread made this kind of stuff... what equipment will work with what.

That sounds like a piece of homework for somone to type up, but the list of what works with what should be fairly straight forward to draw up. It could include a list of which motors work best at a certain voltage + with a certain esc on that voltage.

It would actually easier if people would read all the FAQ's and stickies so that they understand the technology, rather to provide a limited list of what works with what. After all, pretty much anything can work together once you set things up right ("right" may not be "ideal" though). If anything, an additional stickie outlining the strengths/weaknesses of each of Mike's ESCs and motors. I think that, coupled with the existing stickies, would be more useful, but I dunno...
