A123 Do I Need A Lvc ? - 11.24.2007, 04:04 PM

Hi !

Do i need tu use a lvc to be able to run a A123 pack in hpi wheely king 4x4 truck ?

You don't "need" an LVC since they drop off quite abruptly at the end, and they are not as sensitive to overdischarging as regular lipos.

That said, if you do decide to get an LVC, make sure it is specifically designed for those cells or it will think the pack is dead sooner than it is because of the voltage difference between lipos.

from what i've seen, my cars just go pretty much dead right at the end. i have checked voltage everytime after this point and i was a good way above the their 2v/cell cutoff range. you'll see it no problem with out a lvc.
