i am in the process of selling my revo stuff and just put my electrics in this truggy i got on ebay from mailman

xray xt8 with rc-monster motor mount
mm, 4s, 9xl
16/48

temps were 85-90*f in a 50*f underground garage

Q?...can i go to a 18 tooth pinion??(what i have)

i plan on using this for double duty, brushless and nitro so i will be making a new plate to put the electrics on to ease swapping back and forth

i will post a few pics soon, but they arent the final set-up, i just put it together and had to test

set up help for diffs and suggestions are welcome

Your gonna have to compromise if its gonna pull double duty. The diffs, setup correctly, aren't gonna be ideal for both. Its one or the other. Usually brushless is gonna require a good bit heavier fluid in the center, and slightly heavier in the front and rear.

true, but i have to remove the diff anyway to change it back to nitro, and it will only be ran nitro a one weekend a month

i was thinking since i have some , i would try 30k in the center with brushless

i dont know whats in there now

maybe i should get a second set of diffs??

i just have this thrown in here for testing, i will be makeing a new esc. plate to mount it farther back and look a little more tidy

and will upgrade to the MMM when it comes out, this is my winter project so i will post some new pics once i get it finished

What would you recommend? I was going to try 7/15/7 (stock is 7/10/7)/

Are you thinking maybe 10/20/10??

I would say start at 30 in the center.

If I go with 30 in the center, will that put too much stress on the diffs or axles?

i started out with 7/30/3, but i drive on a tight track so i went down to 10 in the center. the truck doesn't want to wheelie as much in certain parts of the track and it has more off power steering!

I've tried 10k and 30k in the center diff in my brushless truggy. I think I liked 10k a bit better for racing, but I'll probably try 20k or so next. I think you can find find an oil that will be ok for both.

The main thing is what kind of diffs you have. 4, 6, or 8 spyder. The more spyder gears, the lighter the fluid you can run.

oh and thanks, ill give those a shot, brushless will mainly be bashing and track days, and maybe racing club races, but i want to run the summer series here and i have to run nitro there

This is in the xt8, so 4 spiders.

I was going to start with 10k, but then jump to 30k, and then back to 20k. I want to see which one I like.

it says 6 gear

it wasnt bad when i drove it , so i will probably wait till spring to get some testing in
