Will this esc only work w/ 4 pole motors?

I believe MGM are fine with motors with more that 2 poles...

It should be fine on 2 pole as well.

So if I am correct the mgm will work w/ the Feigao 8xl

feigao is 2poler and mgm will work with as well with 4polers like neu or pletty

because of the 8xl, would I be better off w/ the 80 amp or 120 esc/ I won't be using more than 4s

The 80amp should be fine. But if you want a tad more security, and may update your batts later, then get a tad bit bigger esc, it will never hurt having a higher end esc.
