Yep, the jato spurs will just bolt on, and you can use std 32p pinions with the .8mod jato spurs. Definately a cheap upgrade. The cover will not fit on with the jato spurs, but I run mine in sand and gravel and it shows hardly any wear. I even half stripped a few teeth off the spur (the motor came loose) and just reset the correct mesh and am still running it!

Might be a really stupid question.

Thanks guys. The 9l has been ordered from offshore electronics with stock 540 size shaft which should make things a bit easier. The L can is only 57g heavier the the s so my mate went 9l.
Thanks guys for the help. Should be fast once he gets an MM and battery to run it on.

Thanks Lincpimp. He got the one with 1/8th shaft so he will be able to use the pinions he already has. Thanks for your help this thing will hopefully be nice and quick but still be kind of drivable.

It will be great, try 13/58 for a really low temp setup with tons of torque. You can gear up to an 18/54 if you want some super top speed, but the pede will need some suspension fiddling to keep it on the tires! Tell him to buy the wheely bar, if he does not have it already!

No he doesnt have it but it sounds like he will need it. It will be interesting to compare the 9l on 3s to a 5700 on 2s which another friend has. The 3s will win i'm sure but interesting to compare speed torque and temps.

I try to buy most of my boat stuff from them. Steven has not let me down yet, so I always recommend him for certain items, especially the stuff that Mike does not carry.

Remember, even if Mike does not seem to carry it, he most likely can get it.

Got any pictures/video of this 1/7 scale buggy??? Sounds interesting.

We put the 9l in the stampy tonight and we got about one and a half minutes out of it before it stripped the idler. New idler for his andmy stampy as I stripped mine on the weekend with just the stock xl5. On 3s the 9l is crazy powerful. He almost did an on the spot backflip just trying to start the thing.
