E-Revo that uses clutch set up? - 02.24.2008, 05:30 PM

I am in the market for an erevo and located one, but the seller says that it uses the tekno kit that uses the clutch set up from the nitor and not a pinion gear? I am a little confused as to what this means as far as performance, maintenance? What would it take to convert it? Also it has the FOC, what would it take to get reverse? Any advice is appreciated!!

all you have to do is take the electri clutch off and put on a pinion gear from mike. thats it. and most people setup the clutch loose so it almost instantly grabs considering that brushless makes instant torque... it still will perform well. might make it do wheelies a little easier if you make it grab hard at slightly higher rpms but im not sure.

The Tekno motor mount is set back away from the spur gear to make room for the clutch setup. If you want to run a conventional pinion gear, get the RC-Monster Revo motor mount. Its spaced properly for conventional pinion gear use. You can use the rest of the Tekno kit for the battery and esc mount though.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
