Mamba external bec question... - 03.14.2008, 11:06 PM

Hi, i'm new to the forum.

I bought a mamba max esc and castle creations bec so i could run a 4s. Now, it's all wired together and i'm not sure where to plug it all up...i have the motor all set, but i now have an extra connector that has to go somewhere.

on the castle creations site, it says the esc goes into ch1 and the bec ch 2...well, where does the servo go??

can i just use a y harness for the bec and esc to go into ch 2?

or should i use my 3ch e-maxx receiver to run it that way?

any help is greatly appreciated.

I put my BEC into the B/C battery connector socket on my receiver, and hooked up the batteries like normal.

Welcome.

Just plug into battery slot, or you can use a y cable.

Remove the red cable though on the esc or you are in for a mess!

What will happen if you do not remove the red cable?

The external BEC will backfeed into the internal BEC and may cause problems. IMO, it's best to avoid potential issues and remove the wire.

And, you don't have to cut it or anything, just gently pry up the little plastic clip in the connector, slide the red wire out, fold it back, and heatshrink the red wire to the other two. That way, you can re-enable it someday if you want. Or, get a short servo extension cable and remove the red wire from both ends. This way, no mods are needed to the ESC cable. Either way works the same.
