Hmm, "Exactly the same only different." That logic sounds alot like talking to my wife.

I heard that one only it was Normal things. lol

I like when Chris Rock said "You cannot beat a woman in a arguement. It's impossble you will not win. Cause men, we are handicapped when it comes to arguing cause we have a need to make sense!"

depending on the custom truck you can also turn the tranny 180. I had to do this in my G2R. Got it all set up, hit the throtle and the damn thing almost broke my ankle!

This CAN be done, I did it with my LRP TC/orion 10.5 set up because I was bored

Swap any 2 phases, for EX I swapped A with B, and then swapped the sensor wire that goes to phase A and B, and it ran in the opposite direction

its quite simple

I would think it would be. But, I did a bit of Googling on this and it looks like there is some sort of timing issue with the HV Maxx that messes with it.

In any event, my 1512 seems to be ALOT better suited to this anyway.

I will be starting a thread on the truck soon. I have posted pic of it. But, it has be about 80% reworked since then.

I have been running it in the house with very good success. I have had a few set screws loosten and the rear wheel screws loosen up easily (TONS of torque). But, it is proving to be a good runable design, not just a shelf queen.

I am just messing around with the wife comment. I love my wife tremendously. The problem is, she is becoming like her mother and THAT I will absolutely NOT allow! So, I am going through a bit of a "You won't treat me that way!" and "What happened to the woman I married?" kind of thing.

Matt

Mod Man - A while back I had email conversation with a Novak tech who told me straight up that the HV Max cannot have its rotation reversed. EVEN IF you took it apart and flipped over the hall sensors AND swapped the sensor wires. I tried it anyways and I was successful in modifying the motor, but - it didn't run correctly. There is a timing system in the firmware that further prevents modding like this.

I wish, I am not rich enough to afford a monkey bulter, mainly due to the wife! HAHAHA

But a man can always dream of the day a chimp in a tux brings him a glass of cognac and greets the guests!

I posted the question on rctech, and bob novak told me the same

But it worked for me.... But not with the HV

What about some kind of 1:1 small gearbox that attaches to the front of the motor, to reverse direction that way? It doesnt like heavy vehicles though, that is for certain

Anything is possible. I was merely hoping to find a relatively easy way to reverse the direction. I can make anything I want for it. The tranny and transfer case were made on my CNC. But, again, I was looking for something simple.

I am totally thrilled with the Neu anyway.

simplest way is to turn the tranny 180 degrees, make the front the back and the back the front!

^+1.

There are two approaches to reversing direction: mechanical and electrical. We know we can't electrically reverse the motor leads, so that leaves flipping the diffs, reversing the tranny, or somehow adding an idler gear. I suppose you could change the mount and add an "intermediate" gear between the pinion and spur - kinda like how the inside of the emaxx tranny works...
