7xl vs velineon - 03.28.2008, 12:02 AM

Heres a vid of my 7xl MM and a guy i met on the traxxas forum

Im running 7xl MM on 4s and he is single velineon 3s
He is also running a skeleton system to cut weight down to about 5-6lbs

Sorry for the quality, next time we will do it in the light!

Interesting.

I still think the vxl setup is too small for the maxx. What kind of temps and runtime does he get compared to your setup?

As a general rule you are right. However the maxx he runs the VXL in has been gutted to where it's @ 7 lbs. RTR. The temps and runtimes he has reported are both very reasonable and nothing seems to be stressed.

I would not suggest that setup myself but it does seem to be working for him.

7lbs huh? can you imagine what that thing would do with a neu 1509 in it? It would be crazy, and light.

I am picturing what happens to hydro plane boats when too much air gets under them... fast as heck until the front end lifts and they go airborne.

I'm pretty surprised at the performance the Veline setup is giving.

Looks like alot of fun to me.

Do you know what gearing he's using?

Your setup looks great too.
