well until you go lipo i dont think your gonna achieve 40+ and a 65 amp esc, i dont think thats gonna be enough, i would imagine you would at least need a 100 amper!

the feigao 8xl is a good start and the castle creations mamba max esc is a good controller, but i would run it on 4s, 3s would bot be very fast

ok the mamba max esc can only do a 3c lipo and if i were to get a feigao 7xl and a mamba max esc and a 10,00 3c 11.1 lipo will it go 40 and will every thing run cool or is a HV max 4.5 a fast motor?

Stay away from the HV Maxx, esspecially the 4.5! I am in the process of getting an issue resolved with mine. It just stopped working! Gearing was for about 40MPH and my setup was way lighter than the e-maxx novak says it can push to 40-45MPH. I'm currently debating either waiting till the end of the month and see if the MMM is released or just get the mamba Max and run it on the edge. I'm est. that at least 60% of the people on this forum are running at least 1 Mamba max on 4s Lipo. I have already asked the question and been told it will survive if you use a seperate bec, such as the cc bec.

The mm esc can handle 4s lipo. Just remove the red wire in the receiver plug and run a receiver pack or a ubec. The internal bec cannot handle over 3s lipo without overheating. The rest of the esc is fine for up 4s.

For the price of the 10000 3s lipo, buy one of these insted, much better: http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...eu25c4s5000car

I would also say that an 8xl will most likely be a better choice, it will run cooler than the 7xl. For 40 mph you will not have any trouble with the mm esc, 8xl, and the neuenergy 5000 4s lipo.

3s lipo is not enough voltage for a MT like a revo. It is too heavy and will draw too many amps, likely over 100amps, which is getting close to the MM limit of 110, and not many batterys, the 10000 3s maxamps included, can handle that kind of discharge. Plus to get 40mph from the 7xl on 3s the gearing will have to be high,, placing even more load, and heat, on the motor/esc/battery.

This setup (mm/8xl/4s) will make more power than the hv4.5.
