Mamba Max on/off problem

I was runnin' the Mamba Max in the Rustler and didn't nail the ESC down quite good enough. So, after a quite large jump, the ESC gets knocked out of the car and its hanging out the side of the car close to the ground . I didn't notice this and proceeded as normal to speed towards the next jump. As soon as it hits the jump the vehicle shuts down and refuses to turn back on. The ESC will link up to Castle Link and will arm when a receiver pack is plugged into it (motor will not run because the ESC isn't really "on"), the on/off circuit somewhere in the copper traces appears to have been disconnected. Yes, I took off the lame switch and the wires are twisted together. If it's not too hard to fix, I wouldn't mind someone showing me how to find the problem and solder it back together or something.

If you solder the two switch wires together, it will automatically be on. Thats what I did on my 1/18 Mamba system.

the wires just connect right on the edge of the PCB. you can bridge the two points with solder and ditch the wires altogether.

It's not nearly that simple, the on/off circuit is already connected outside the ESC but it is disconnected somewhere else in there. I guess i'll just crack it open and take a look.

Two screws. Once you have it open, it will be "that simple."

I don't really see how that is possible. Are you saying you burnt a trace inside the ESC ? I think it is likely something else is wrong. There is really no way to pull those traces out, unless you can see the damage where the wires solder in on the front of the ESC.

You said you "connected" the "on/off circuit" by twising the wires. Just de-solder the wires where they connect to the PCB, and solder the two points together. I would not count on the wires to be in good condition after you drug the switch along the ground. One of them might be broken inside the insulation.

For me - I'd cut off the switch wires 5mm from board - slip all the insulation off - twist together and solder.

Much easier than attaking the board IMO

Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I took the switch off long before the crash and the wires were cut to a half inch, stripped, and twisted together. I soldered the wires together just now to make it a little more secure, but it obviously didn't make it start working. The problem is probably far worse than I could have imagined , so I'll send it in to CC for repairs.

Something other than the on/off circuit is hosed, most likely.
