My Revo conv. build, lots of pix - 05.24.2008, 10:54 AM

Here is a few pix just after I pulled the engine.
I tore the truck completely down, rebuilt the diffs and installed the teflon gtr shocks and everything else on a new 3racing chassis.

I skipped a few steps taking pix. Sorry I got carried away and forgot. But anyways here is the finished product more or less. Thanks to everyone on here who has given me input and helped me out to get this thing going.

Got the body all painted and trimmed.
So the final setup is 10XL,MM, 5s 8000 true rc lipos.
The thing runs awesome. I had some clutch problems at first all is well now and I love it.
Just ordered some aluminum diff cups as I'm going through the stock ones pretty fast. Everything else seems to be holding up. I am planning on doing the tranny mod at some point. Sooner rather than later probably. Thanks again to everyone.

The esc runs pretty cool usually between 100 and 110 the motor gets up between 125 to 150. I'm real happy with it. I don't even halve to worry bout temps really. I was a little surprised. My gearing is 17pinion and 36 spur with stock tranny. The MM is a little older. Not sure how old though. I actually bought it used. But as long as you disable the internal BEC it runs 5s fully charged no problem.

my guess is that running the 10XL is a big reason everything is running cool its comparable to running a Neu 1515/2.5d (at least KV wise)

Woowww that turned out looking great!! Nice build, I’ve always been a fan of the striped anodized chassis..

Do you know what your total weight of the truck is??. What is your run time with the battery??

Thanks for your time post some vids when you have the opportunity.

Have a great one..

Shaun.

Nothing!.. Hahahahaaa..

I get about 20 minutes of run time. The truck weights around 10.5 to 11 pounds with batteries. Top speed I would estimate between 45 and 50 based on what I know my other trucks do. My nitro Revo does right around 42 to 45 and this a bit faster not to mention the BL gets there bout 2 or 3 times faster.

I ran the same setup (even the gearing) in my revo back when I had it. It was SO FAST, definatly more than I needed, and my truck was a little lighter at 9.8lbs. I always got esc temps about 125 and the motor hovered around 140 with the RCM heatsink.

one thing though.
I was running 6400mah true rc and I was getting better runtimes than you. I was getting near 30 minutes. considering you have 8000's it seems like you should get atleast 30 minutes to me.

Dirt101, I think I actually bought the motor/esc from you. Don't you have the same profile name on rcuniverse? Anyway it could be a touch lighter my scale is not real good. I also am running a 2S and 3S in series instead of one 5S. They may be touch heavier. As far as run times go, I'm not sure why you got more run time. What kind of running were you doing? I get about 20 mostly racing.
