It's a simple capacitor bank, with a huge price. You could buy some capacitors and wire yourself, and make something similar for only $5. It might not end up looking as pretty, but honestly $20 is way too much for something so simple.

They are good. You could make your own as well and save a few bucks. Thos are the same that comes with the Hobbywing, Speed Passion GT and Venom 120A controllers.

u can either solder it onto the power leads or do like me, run it inline with deans.

Do you have pictures?

The caps do need to be as close as posiable to the esc. I have 2 on these on my Novak 4.5 HV set up and it runs cooler than it did on just one.

So you have tried these? What is the voltage on the capacitors? 25V, 35V?

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

No, the actual capacitor that came with my Hobbywing is the old single capacitor that later got replaced by that capacitor bank http://www.hobbywing.com/english/Art...?ArticleID=417. The caps are rated for 16V and it is meant for 11.1 volts which is what Revracer will be using with his MM and Mega. Like I said in my previous post, it will actually be cheaper to make your own. I will be making my own using axial capacitors to have them lay flat instead of making them tall with the radial caps. I'll be using big 1000uF, 50V caps just because I have them here with me.

so what all would i need? just some caps and wire? if i have a spare 470uf 16v cap(pulled it off an old esc when the esc crapped out. dont know if its still good...) would that be fine? what about the novak mega that is like 8200uf? or the 4700uf one. if i could make one for like $10 or so should i? and what do you mean run it in line with your deans? like solder it onto your battery connector?

Inline means solder the appropriate connectors onto it so you can put it between your ESC and battery without replacing the connectors already on the battery and ESC.

Actually all he needs to do is solder the cap leads together and if needed add some 12 or 14GA wire use some shrik wrap and from the caps to the ESC and the battery plugs where it originally goes. Please get a laugh at my crappy drawing.
