Hmmm... Now there's an interesting thought - but what's the fun of that?

Sometimes it nice to have the security of a nicely ovengineered setup.

If you have read through the manual, they actually have a nice 2-page write-up on how to install the servo horns and steering links and tweak the settings.

Noticed that the BEC on the stock ESC is 6volts - maybe that is why things seem a bit slow to me on the MMM.

Regarding gearing - the stock 68T spur is too big. I would like to try out the low CG mount holes, but that would never happen unless you were using a <18T pinion.

Looking into ordering a much smaller spur in the 54T - 58T range (amain has a great selection) and just got a variety of 32P pinions from Mike to experiment with.

I'm running something like 21/62 on lower cg mount, with it in the middle of the motor slide, the motor looks nice and low. no run time for testing gearing tho. might fit a 65t spur. 1700kv 6s

Looks like you are geared for just over 40mph with those specs.

More info if you can - What motor and batteries are you running?

When you get a chance to run it let us know runtime and temps and how the performance is.

Tekneu 1515 2.5D/f / FP 3700'S sure will post up some temps. Right now I don't want to scratch my new ride by driving it.

Better put on those heavier springs or it'll be on it's lid first turn you take.

I've got one of those on the side waiting, going to try it with a 3D first and go from there.

okay i did some driving on 20/58 and took some temps after ten min i got 135 motor/100 esc/95 lipos check out some videos of it http://s300.photobucket.com/albums/n...t=bb8df352.pbr and i scratched it.

Nice ride though. What are those tires and wheels? Are they 14mm or 17mm hex?

I am amazed how cheap the Traxxas replacement parts are compared with some of the other name brands.

Badland tires on 1/2" offset dish wheels w/ TRX 17mm adapters.

Just got the batteries in the mail today. Here's a few pics of the fit.

They are TP 5000mAh 3S.

The top bulges up a little bit but I think that is because of the spring clip. The doors close smoothly without any pressure and you can still feel that there is airflow over the top of the packs through the vents from front to back.

The manual tells you how to remove those spring clips, but I didn't get what they were saying. With those lipos on 6s the runtime should be awsome. At lunch I'll be trying 50wt tan springs(front) 50wt black springs (back). With the all the tie rods in the inner position.(riding high) Also I'll tighten the slipper a little it got up to 145F yesterday.

It the Thunder Power eXtreme V2 5000mAh packs that I got - but since both manufacturers use the Enerland lipo cells - it is essentially the same pack.
